PRESS RELEASE
BRIAN BURTON ENGINES LTD. CONFIRMS "HEGFLOOR" AS "BEST EVER" ABSORBENT
FOR WORKSHOP OIL SPILLS
April 1998
Leading Essex engine reconditioner and remanufacturer Brian Burton
Engines Ltd., having over the years tried various other absorbents
to deal with oil on the workshop floor, has no doubts that in switching
to Hegfloor it has found a powerful and truly cost-effective absorbent
which leaves a non-slip surface every time, cuts fumes in the workplace
and protects the flooring surface.
Speaking at the Engine Reconditioning and Remanufacturing Exhibition
at Donington Park on March 20th., Brian Burton, the company's founding
Managing Director, said: "We discovered Hegfloor at the first Remanufacturing
and Reconditioning Exhibition in 1996. We've been using it ever since,
and we wouldn't go back to anything else. Hegfloor is the best absorbent
I've ever seen and it now plays a key role in our Clean Works policy".
Asked about the practical benefits of Hegfloor, Mr. Burton added:
"Oil left on the workshop floor is a serious slip hazard, and it gives
off fumes which are dangerous to health. In the past we had tried
granular clay and sawdust - but they never really captured all the
oil and the related fumes. The clay granules in particular were very
abrasive and damaging to our floor. One of the beauties of Hegfloor
is that it is so absorbent that you don't need to use much - you can
sweep it to one side and use it again and again until it's saturated.
Also, it traps the oil completely so it's easy to sweep up and dispose
of. It cuts oily fumes right down. It leaves a non-slip surface. And
since it's made of plant fibres it doesn't cut up the floor, so it
reduces floor maintenance costs".
"Hegfloor" is supplied by Oil Cleaning Bio-Products Ltd. along with
the other biodegradable absorbents, degreasers, cleansers and bioremediation
agents in the unique "Heg" range. Richard Genochio, OCBP's Managing
Director, said: "It was good to have this very positive confirmation
from Brian Burton at Donington of the difference which Hegfloor can
make. At the Show we had so many visitors to our stand with exactly
the same oil spill and floor management problems which Brian's company
had been able to overcome by using Hegfloor. We are sure that they
too will find that Hegfloor is the answer. Safe clean floors mean
fewer lost-time slip accidents, less fume-related illness, less repainting
and greater business efficiency. Hegfloor is over six times as absorbent
as granular clay, so it's highly cost-effective as well as giving
all the other benefits which Brian mentioned".
