PRESS RELEASE
SAFE, COST-EFFECTIVE & BIODEGRADABLE POLLUTION CONTROL:
SEE OIL CLEANING BIO-PRODUCTS Ltd. ON STAND 912
February1998
OCBP's "Heg" range of safe biodegradable pollution control materials
(cleansers, degreasers, absorbents, spill kits and bioremediation
agents) will be making their debut before the commercial vehicle industry
at the CV Show in the NEC at Birmingham. The "Heg" products on Stand
912 should be seen by anyone in:
- manufacturing
- maintenance or fleet and depot management
and with responsibility for:
- pollution control
- vehicle washing/traffic film removal
- degreasing and parts washing
- plant maintenance, cleansing of machinery, oil spills on factory
or depot floors
- the specifying of on-board or on-site oil spill kits for emergency
response.
OCBP will be giving demonstrations in the handling of simulated
oil spills of various kinds, and will be describing exactly how the
"Heg" products can help companies in particular circumstances.
Commenting on the "Heg" products and the commercial vehicle industry,
Richard Genochio, Managing Director, said: "Pollution control and
related health and safety issues are integral to sound business management
and keys to competitive advantage. We enable companies to get away
from conventional caustic cleansers, toxic solvents and abrasive granular
absorbents. Users such as LDV or Valeo Electrical Systems have found
that the "Heg" products give real operational benefits and greener
solutions. Our products are effective, safe and biodegradable. Our
"Clean Works, Better Business" Partnerships offer major commercial
and environmental gains".
Asked about particular applications by commercial vehicle operators,
Mr. Genochio said: "A good case in point is the experience of Stevenage
Oil Company which runs and maintains a fleet of Leyland road tankers.
They faced the same problems as any other fuel oil company and fleet
manager. These included vehicle washing and traffic film removal,
minor spills and oiled concrete in the yard, and the cleansing and
degreasing of tanks, parts and metalwork. They had been using granular
or polypropylene absorbents and harsh detergents, caustics and solvents.
Some just didn't work. Some did the job but were very unpleasant to
use and caused a disposal problem. They found that the "Heg" products,
by contrast, and were safe to use, biodegradable and highly cost-effective
- and did not damage livery paintwork . I am glad to say that the
success of Hegol as a liquid cleanser, of Hegfloor as a prime absorbent
and a key component in our emergency spill kits, prompted SOC to take
on all the "Heg" products as a distributor in OCBP's growing UK and
overseas network. So SOC's road tankers will in future be delivering
to their customers not only fuel oil, but also the "Heg" pollution
control and degreasing materials".
