HEGSURF.pw is a blend of biodegradable surfactants, non-pathogenic
oil-degrading bacteria and nutrients. It is a safe alternative to the
use of harsh solvents and caustics in degreasing metal parts. It removes
hydrocarbons and other organic chemicals from soiled metallic or other
surfaces. In the right conditions the natural bacteria in the product
will biodegrade the oil and grease in the circulating residue into harmless
by-products and thus extend the effective life of Hegsurf.pw as a parts-washing
liquid.
BENEFITS
- Quick recombination of oil makes it possible to skim oil residues
from the surface if required
- Use in ultrasonic parts washers and ordinary dip tanks
- Can biodegrade oil residues, rather than merely moves contamination
from one point to another
- Rust inhibitor protects degreased metal work
- Will not damage rubber or plastic parts; safe on paintwork
- Safe to use; non-flammable; no cumbersome precautions needed;
- Cuts fumes/VOCs; greater working flexibility and improved health
at work cut costs
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
NOTE: The
powdered bacterial bran contained in the inner cap is sufficient for
the entire volume of concentrate in the container. When using part
of the liquid only, use a proportionate amount of the bacterial bran,
i.e. when using 1/4 of the concentrate add only 1/4 of the bran, and
then add clean water, preferably lukewarm. Let stand for 30 minutes
before use. If the solution thickens after some time without use,
simply add water. Dilutions below are shown in ratios of water:Hegsurf.pw.
NOTE: The effectiveness of Hegsurf.pw will be reduced by contact
with brake fluid or carburettor cleaner. If the solution thickens
after some time without use, add more water.
CONVENTIONAL CIRCULATING PARTS WASHERS
HEGSURF.pw
should be diluted with water 5:1, or up to 10:1 if the greasing or
caking is not severe. After adding the bacterial bran as described
above, leave the mixture to stand for up to one hour if possible.
The mixed solution can then be used exactly as in a conventional parts
washing fluid, except that it does not pose the same problems of disposal.
Ideally the working temperature should be about 100°F/40°C.,
but ordinary room temperatures will suffice. Hegsurf.pw itself may
be used at higher temperatures, but the the bacteria will not function
above 45°C.
ULTRASONIC PARTS WASHERS
HEGSURF.pw
works well in ultrasonic parts washers. Hegsurf.pw be mixed as described
above but in a weaker dilution of 20:1 up to 50:1. The higher dilution
ratios are for greasing or caking which is not severe.
SOAK TANK OR SWABBING
Mix as for conventional parts washing and dilute according to the
extent of grease to be removed. For light rust-inhibiting oils a solution
of up to 20:1 should be effective.
DISPOSAL OF USED HEGSOLV
When Hegsurf.pw is exhausted, a slight odour of ammonia becomes apparent
and the solution in the parts washer should be replaced. However,
it may still be used for cleaning oil-stained concrete floors. Proceed
as follows:
1) Ensure that non-biodegraded oil in the solution is either skimmed
from the surface or removed through physical absorption by a Hegsorb
pillow;
2) Pour the oil-free solution on the floor to be cleaned, spread
with a mop (a stiff-bristled broom may needed to scrub areas of
heavy contamination) and leave for at least 15 minutes;
3) rinse the floor with plenty of water, using a hose or mop, so
that the residue flows to the site drainage system and separator.
Used Hegsurf.pw may be added to used Hegfloor,
Hegrem or Hegsorb.
The Hegsurf.pw will assist their composting while biodegrading itself.
